The Associated Press reports in this article on the Macon Telegraph web site that Georgia State Rep. Calvin Smyre was elected as the new president of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
NBCSL on Sunday concluded its annual conference in Jackson, Mississippi. Smyre replaces outgoing president Mary Coleman, a Mississippi state representative.
