Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer and many people are putting their travel plans on hold due to high gas prices.
Today the average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline is $3.87, according to Triple-A.
As gasoline prices rise across the country, states are taking actions that range from calling on Congress to investigate price gouging to gasoline tax holidays. But is a temporary gas tax holiday a good idea? Four states have laws that would actually increase their fuel taxes to offset a federal tax holiday, if it comes to pass.
