Anyone who is enough of a legislative junkie to enjoy The Thicket, will also be interested in reading the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries Professional Journal. Published several times a year (somewhat irregularly), this journal has recently made efforts to welcome articles from all types of legislative staff, not just clerks and secretaries.
The most recent edition that's available online includes an article by former Florida House Clerk John Phelps on his work consulting with the Iraqi Transitional National Assembly, a piece by Delaware House Clerk Jo Ann Hedrick on budget bills, and an assessment of "e-services" provided by state legislatures by Virginia Senate Systems Director Sharon Crouch Steidel.
