Who can forget Clark Griswold's 25,000 twinkle lights or the "leg lamp" from the Christmas Story?
While you may not see either of these adorning statehouses and capitol buildings across the country, you will see fireworks, poinsettias and children singing carols.
This year, The National Conference of State Legislatures teamed up with members of the Legislative Information and Communications Staff Section (LINCS) to help capture some of the best capitol decorations. We received pictures from around 30 states!
We have put these pictures together in a slideshow for you to enjoy. Simply log onto NCSL's website and the pictures should appear on the home page, toward the center of your screen. If your computer doesn't have Microsoft Silverlight, you will need to download it in order to watch the show (you can download Silverlight from NCSL's home page).
Thank you to LINCS and all of the legislative staff who helped make our first holiday slideshow a success. We look forward to doing it again in 2010.
